The EZI(Enterpreuner Zoroastrian Initiative) was started by a group of young Zoroastrian Professionals and Enterpreuners to start a movement to build ownership housing by self financing initiatives.

Instead of playing blame games and waiting endlessly for the Trustees of our erstwhile Bombay Parsee Panchayat or Other various Religious TRusts who own buildings in two"s and Three"s to decide whom to allocate a roof (a leaking, unattended, old house )which finally got vacated due to the demise of an old elderly surviving member of our beloved community, uncared for, unloved (by children who fled for greener pastures),unfed or who breathed their last breadth in some isolated corner of a Parsee General or Masina Hospital, have decided to pursue earnestly by first identifying a suitable plot of land in Central or South Mumbai, contributing for its development and forming Co-op Housing Societies by their ownselves.
Every Co-Op society thus formed will comprise of 40 members who would select their own managing committee members, collect instalments as the work progresses, arrange for Bank Finances, and ultimately own their ownership house for a fairly competitive price.

Owning your own ownership house by being involved in its development will not only give a feeling of fulfillment and pride but would definitely be a better option than paying pugree and donation to a Trust owned Building and be at the mercy and whims of the Trustees and not being able to pledge or mortgage for self financing.

Any community member who may be aware or have personal knowledge of any Zoroastrian Trust Land or Building that is available for sale or joint development may kindly contact our office.

Any constructive and valued comments, advice would also be highly appreciated.

There is a vacant plot of land in Central Bombay at Parel Tank Road, Kalachowkie just 500 mt away from Wadia Baug owned by the Byramji Jeejebhoy Trust. This should be more than an acre and has a compound wall built long ago. It seems the encroachments (if any) have been removed since the sign board has been put up quite recently, so the Trust authorities are vigilant.

I am not aware if any plans for construction are underway but I am sure if this initiative is from a Parsi group they should readily oblige.
